i would like to know what these are 1.high yield saving acct,

2.dividend stocks. how a Ugandan can get these.how useful are they financially.

1. High yielding savings accounts are accounts that pay high interest on savings and some examples are fixed deposits in banks, some insurance products, unit trusts etc

2. Dividend stocks are stocks of public companies that pay dividends. In Uganda some of the public companies that have a good history of paying dividends are BANK OF BARODA UG, MTN UG, STANBIC BANK UG, UMEME etc.

Dividends are usually paid once a year though some companies may choose to pay what is normally called interim dividends but it is not mandatory a company to pay dividends, it can choose to pay or not to pay, depending on it's bottom line.

I did share some of those stocks, the like of Stanbic stock, Bank of Baroda ug, umeme etc but as i told you dividends payout is entirely depends on company's bottomline and the decision of the board, the board my choose to retain the earnings & reinvest it in the company.
